ALPE D'HUZES FITNESS CHALLENGE
“GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION”
On June 7th, 2012, Jennifer St-Pierre, a member of BBSV, with 7 teammates in the Netherlands, will take on the Alpe d’HuZes BIG CHALLENGE – attempt to cycle the Alpe d’Huez in France 6x and raise 40,000 Euro for cancer research (http://inspire2live.org).  This event aims to raise 30 million Euros for cancer research, and accepts no limitations – ‘Giving up is not an option’ is the motto, and it applies to fighting cancer, extremely high fundraising goals and cycling a mountain 6x that is, as part of the Tour de France, absolutely no joke!
On May 6th, BBSV members and friends and family of Jen participated in a gruelling 6 - 40 minute workout marathon in our effort to support her ride.  Through pledges and team registrations, we are proud to say that we were able to raise over $2,500.00 for the Inspire to Live Foundation, and help Jen blow away her initial fundraising goal of $5,000.00!  HUGE thanks to everyone who participated, and helped to coordinate this amazing event!  We are proud to have been included in the amazing adventure that Jen has embarked upon, and look forward to hearing all about her challenge when she completes the Alpe D'Hues!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AMAZING EFFORTS JEN!!
KEEP IT UP, AND THE MOUNTAIN WILL BE YOURS!

DESTINY BOXERS IN THE RING
DANGEROUS VICTORIOUS AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Last night Dangerous Denton Daley stepped into the ring at the Hershey Centre in Missisauga against Canadian former Cruiserweight Champion Frank White.  In the first 8 round match of his career, Denton took it to the former champ, needing only 6 rounds before the opponents corner called the match to give the Dangerous one his victory.  This amazing win follows his domination of Mexico's Benito Quiroz in February, proving again that he is the dominant player in the Cruiserweight division. Look for more details about his next match at the Hershey Centre in September, on his Facebook and webpage, and read all about his amazing bout in the Boxing Examiner here.

CAN-AM IN OHIO - THE RESULTS ARE IN!

Amazing opportunities are often afforded to our team of boxers.  This weekend, Team Destiny traveled to Youngstown, Ohio, and took the opportunity to show the international amateur boxing community why Boxing by Syd Vanderpool is more than just an Athletic Centre, we truly are a Culture of Champions!
While not all of our team members got the opportunity to get in the ring, Lucas "Death" Rowe, Shawn "The Flurry" Murray, and Dave "Put Em in the Grave" Murray all won their respective bouts.
Roman "The Gladiator" Szlek, and Alan Yescas fought like true Champions, making the Team proud, and showing the American crowd that a Destiny Boxer gives every match 100%, and put us over the top to win the Team Trophy!
Kai "So Fly" Johnson and Jessica "Cobra" Camara's scheduled fights were removed from the bout list at the last minute.  Just fuel for the fire to see them step into the ring at February Fury!!
Pics and posts from Destiny Boxers are streaming on Facebook.  Make sure you check our group page for even more details and all the inside information from April!!

A huge thank you to all of our members that continue to support and encourage our Destiny Boxers!
We are all proud of our CHAMPIONS!

On the final day of the tournament, Team Destiny had 5 boxers enter the ring.  Olivia Duchesne and Darius Schott both received "Walk Up" Gold medals for participating in the tournament, unfortunately with no opponent to meet them.  We look forward to seeing them in the ring soon!

JULIUS "CAESAR" BUNDA IN ACTION IN OHIO
November 20, 2011 BBSV's own Julius "Caesar" Bunda travelled to Campbell, Ohio to meet Dante Moore in a 4 round bout.  Proving his skill can cross any border, Julius fought a fantastic match against the 6-0 Ohio native.  Judges scored the match a draw, not doubt a testament to the dedication Julius brings to the sport every time he steps in the ring.  We look forward to congratulating Julius upon his return, and look forward to the his next match.

NATASHA "THE NIGHTMARE" SPENCE VICTORIOUS BY UNANIMOUS DECISION
On Saturday October 22, 2011 the one and only Natasha "The Nightmare" Spence brought it all to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.  Through four rounds of great boxing, she proved to the 2000+ people in attendance that she is without a doubt the hottest female boxer coming up the ranks.  With a unanimous decision being handed down from the judges, "The Nightmare" adds another tally to the Win column!  Stay tuned for information on her next fight, where we know she will continue to wow the crowd with her passion for the sweet science of boxing!

SEPTEMBER 10, 2011 JULIUS "CAESAR" BUNDA TAKES A JAB AT THE CPBC MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE

Destiny's own Julius "Caesar" Bunda was in Moncton, New Brunswick to take a shot at the vacant CPBC Middleweight title against Stuart McLellan of BC, in the bout that boxing enthusiasts are now calling the fight of the year.  For an amazing 10 rounds, Julius showed the world why he is "Caesar".  Unrelenting and full of energy, the bout was well matched and exciting from the start.  In the 10th round, Julius took the bout by storm, and in the final 3 minutes he dominated, showing McLellan that he not only could go the distance, but could finish with an amazing show of ringmanship, energy, and control.  The match ended with a unanimous decision for Julius, all judges scoring the bout 96-95, however, after McLellans corner requested a recount, the judging came in as a draw, leaving the CPBC Middleweight Title vacant.  Congratulations Julius, although the final outcome was not what anyone expected, your talent won the night, and brought us to our feet!  We look forward to the next time you step in the ring, and show the world what it means to be a DESTINY BOXER!!

AUGUST 26, 2011 VEGAS EXTRAVAGANZA

The Las Vegas Extravaganza on August 26th proved yet again that Team Destiny Boxers know how to get it done!  In the opening exhibition between Destiny's Jen Kadlec and Kelly Hagan, we saw two team mates go toe to toe, and have a great time in the ring!  The evening also saw two of our newest Destiny fighters put their skills on display, with Kai Johnson finding victory over Justin Heroux from London, and Devin McAndrew showed great ringmanship against Billy Taylor from Brantford.  Lucas "Death" Rowe cemented his reputation in the ring with a victory over Santos Chiapetta of Toronto, and Jessica "Cobra" Camara had her hands raised in her second match against Shelby Dynes of Goderich.  Shawn "The Flurry" Murray was on hand to fight as the main event, unfortunately for unexpected reasons, his opponent was unable to participate.  The next major tournament will be the 2011 Provincials, to be held in Sarnia November 18-20th...check back often to see what our team is doing to prepare for this great event.
